Barrett’s Oesophagus is a condition that is still not universally recognised even among health professionals. Too few people are aware of it and its potential to lead to oesophageal cancer.

Part of our role as the Barrett’s Oesophagus Campaign is to raise awareness within the medical profession so that every GP is aware of the symptoms, best treatments and potential complications.

To spread knowledge, the charity:

• supports The UK National Barrett’s Oesophagus Registry (UKBOR);
• has a list of publications originating from UKBOR research about Barrett’s Oesophagus and adenocarcinoma (AC) of the oesophagus;
• backs relevant research projects; and
• encourages networking between professionals with a special interest in the subject.
