Due to the increase in spammers on the site (I've just removed another one) I have started to filter / block access from specific email and IP addresses (the address of their computer on the internet) - most appear to be using @yeah.net and coming from China.

I get a notification of all posts however in case I do happen to miss any, please feel free to private message me if you spot one that I haven't removed and I'll deal with it asap.

Thank you
Richard

How do spammers get on the list?

I run several www sites and several mailing lists and get very few problems with spam. I use forms - but do not need captchas - which I detest! The way I deal with form spammers is at

it works!

If you want to throw ideas about, my all means contact me off-list.

To join they must use a genuine email address to confirm their membership and whilst this will deter most spam posters, there are a few that will go that extra mile.

Unfortunately the suggestion on the page you suggest does not stop that - the only way to stop all spam is have all messages vetted before they are allowed to go live so this seems to be a good second option.
