Hi
Looking for some advice. I had a gastroscopy on Monday and felt generally well and pain free before the procedure. Since having the procedure I have been suffering with really bad chest pain when I eat anything and the pain spreads across my chest. I can feel the food going down parts of my oesophagus and it feels really sore and tender. I never experienced this prior to the procedure and wondered whether this was normal. I have had 2 other gastroscopies is the past and have never experienced this before. Should I be giving them a call back?
Thanks for any advice, greatly appreciated.

Hi Saz, Sorry it's been a couple of days. Are your symptoms any better now?
Some discomfort may occur due to 1. the extra air pumped in to inflate your stomach during the procedure and 2. some abrasion incurred from the endoscope against the wall of the oesophagus.
If these symptoms persist, you need to call the clinic.
