Hi. I posted in August about being anxious about my Barrett’s turning cancerous because my reflux symptoms didn’t seem under control even though I take 30mg lansoprazole twice daily.
Eventually, I saw my consultant and had a endoscopy. I’m awaiting the findings of the biopsies but the nurse who discharged me said that the Barrett’s was still small (good news). However she did mention that I had area of gastritis which they have taken biopsies from. Of course I am now panicking that this is the start of stomach cancer. I’ve had the h pylori infection 20 years ago and was treated for that. I can’t understand why I would have any inflammation if I’m taking anti-acid producing medication. Just wondering if this finding is normal with Barrett’s sufferers.
Thank you for any information
