I am due to have my 2 yearly endoscopy in a few weeks. Since my last endoscopy I have been diagnosed with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. I normally have a sedative for the procedure but I have been told that I won't be given a sedative this time because of the AF. Is this normal and what is the reason for this? I have only had one episode of AF in two years so it's not a big problem.
