Hi All,
I would just like to ask is there many people in the support forum that has lower gut problems eg Crohn's or UC
I have had quite a few medications that I have not tolerated, I was not given any ppi to protect my stomach I wonder if this has any bearing on the Hernia & Barrett
My Crohn's is still active & my specialist is doing tests to see if there is a medication to put me in remission.

I know very little about Crohn's so can't comment on the medication

PPIs "protect" the stomach against prolonged use of NSAIDs which is why they are often prescribed for people who take ongoing high doses of paracetamol to avoid development of stomach ulcers. Remember, your Barrett's is not in your stomach but a complication of reflux of stomach acid into your esophagus.

I have mild IBS which comes and goes and I do find my reflux is worse when I have issues. I guess anything that slows down transit and stomach emptying will cause additional reflux.

The hernia is a pure mechanical so I don't see how that could be related.
