I am clearly lucky... I can eat almost anything - in moderation. but I learnt long ago that it wasn't comfortable to over eat, or be over weight. In my case my weight threshold is about 70kg (I am about 5' 9" - 1.75 m) and I quickly feel uncomfortable if I approach that too closely.

Two things that did cause a problem were houmous and guacamole. Maybe we ate too much, but the problem is they are high in oil and that causes bile reflux. A few weeks ago I suffered similarly after eating in an indian restaurant. Again, high in oil. Junk foods (and many pre-prepared dishes) tend to be high fat/high oil and are to be avoided - not often a problem for me!

Curiously I can smother a salad in olive oil without problem, so I suspect some oils are OK, others not.

Problem is, different people seem to react differently so general advice is difficult.

Since I stopped drinking tea, my general acid levels do seem to be lower. The other day I forgot to take a morning 5mg dose omeprazole, and didn't remember 'til 4 o'clock. I took sodium bicarb in case I was a bit acid (omeprazole probably doesn't work if taken in small doses on an acid stomach), but was not, so it looks like I could reduce the frequency of my 5mg doses now.

There are foods/drinks which tend to reduce general acidity, and others that tend to increase it.
