I am supposed to take Protelos granules for osteoporis - strontium ranelate. Do you know if this is a bisphosphate? If so, I am not taking it. There is enough risk now of cancer, because I have to have a yearly check up. I am not going to have more risk than need be. I think all medication has risks.

Bisphosphonates have a different active ingredient, zoledronic acid as opposed to strontium ranelate so I guess this research doesn't affect your medication.
However, if you have any concerns about your medicines you should discuss it with a pharmacist or your doctor. |
