Hi fellow barretters i see my consultant yesterday and he said that they found an issue in my liver it is a bile duct that has disfigured and is stopping the bile going through. For the past few days iv had trouble swallowing and it feels like a stabbing pain in my chest when the food goes down. Does this mean im getting damage from bile rather than acid if so is it worse and would anyone advise going to see my gp monday ?

Bile acts a bit like washing up liquid.
Acid cannot dissolve fatty tissue by itself - oil and water don't mix.
This article in Down With Acid explains it.
