When a gastroscppy is performed and the esophagus biopsy was chronic inflammation and the stomach and duodenum were fine can H pylori still be present and possibly missed?

Is this something that is specifically tested for on all gastroscopies?

I only ask as I have read a bit about it and tonight I had a sip of wine and it literally started burning my intestine straight away.   I have been told this could be due to H pylori. I obviously know this could be a reaction with stomach acid however for it to burn so quickly (and taking PPI) an hour or so earlier I am thinking H pylori could be possible

H Pylori can be tested for at surveillance scoping; it's not routine but I believe it should be.

The wine burning could be due to it running over an area that is already inflamed.
