I am looking to get a second opinion as not at all happy with the Consultant who carried out my latest endoscopy and diagnosed Barrett's - no help or follow up and a very different result to the endoscopy I had 3 months ago (no Barrett's but H Pylori infection and hiatal hernia). I live in Lancashire and wondered if anyone can recommend a Consultant. I'm prepared to go private if necessary to get some answers.
Many thanks.

Hi,

I don't actually know any of the Lancs gastroenterologists but have spoken with Dr Rob Willert at Manchester whom I believe to be a top player.

We had hoped to be launching Barrett's Manchester patient support group next month but it has, unfortunately, had to be postponed due to the time pressures and backlog following the winter crisis - and they underwent "JAG accreditation" (bit like an OFSTED) just before Easter. However, we do hope the postponement won't be for too long.
In the interim, anyone in the Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire & W Yorks area may wish to pre-register their interest by emailing enquiries@BarrettsManchester.org.uk or chat to the Manchester convenor, Reg, via Manchester@Barretts/org.uk.

Thank you Choccy 76 and chrisrob for your replies. I'm booked in to see Dr Banait at Euxton Hall next Monday so, fingers crossed, I get some answers.

Definitely interested in the Manchester support group, will keep my eyes open.
