I am writing with regard to asthma and acid reflux.  I have barretts which is monitored regularly under Dr Lovatt at UCHL but I am concerned as I have had 4 chest infections in the last 8 months and just had pleuresy and I am awaiting xray and blood test results.

I am sure there is a link with the acid reflux but as I take medication for it is there still a possibility that the infections are linked to the acid reflux and how will I find out?  Would a chest specialist realise this?  I want my acid levels checked again but if the acid asperates into the lungs even with medication it would cause a problem.  I have already had a fundoplication op which unfortunately failed so dont know what to do.  I have felt really ill over the past couple of months and have to try and do something about it.  I only wish I didnt have reflux.Dead
