Hi All - My name is Craig and I have been working with the Barrett's Board and Probe Committee to develop this new site.

We hope you like it and any feedback is much appreciated.

Make sure your sign up to the Newsletter if you want to stay in touch and as the site begins to come alive you should start seeing lots of news and events on the Probe Blog.

Bear in mind though the site, and indeed this Forum, need you to get it kick started.

Enjoy!

Craig

great to see the forum craig. when i was diagnosed in 2005 there was very little info and it was  hard to get enough to go on as most sites say barretts is for heavy smokers and drinkers (i am tee-total and have never even tried smoking) they also say it is maily men and over sisties.
i was 47 and female living a healthy lifestyle. good luck with the site.

Hello Criag,    I found this site by accident! and boy am I glad I did.... although it is my 7yr old with the problem, born with it but they kept saying she would grow out of it! and then for 2 years treated her for night asthma.  I have found it very informative after all it is from the horses mouth so to speak, how people are dealing with it, their emotions discussing what works for them and what doesn't regardless of what the doctors say. My daughter is very lively and doesn't like complaining even when she is great pain. Her condition unfortunatly affects her lungs and then her heart so she has had some close calls in A&E. The hospital should get their doctors to look at this site .... it would help everyone in the long run.      Good Work on you part.      It would be interesting to find out if there are other parents out there, for example does this site have a link   GERD and Children.   Thanks Lisa

This forum is a great place and opportunity to share experiences and thereby help others.
Because not everyone likes to be open about medical problems, and because there may be embarrassing symptoms members / viewers may wish to discuss, it would be good if there was an opportunity to post anonymously. I realise that could be open to abuse, however.

Hi Chris

You can anonymously post by becoming a new Member such as ABC etc and not completing your personal details....you will see a lot of Members are anonymous.
We have no problem in you not disclosing your identity but would have problems with improper content and in those cases the messages will be deleted.

Am I the only one who gets this problem. Every time I post a message, I get an otherwise blank page displaying the following:

Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occured while sending an email.
Please contact the forum administrator.

Support Error Code:- err_Access_send_mail_footer
File Name:- functions_send_mail.asp

Error details:-
CDO.Message.1
The transport failed to connect to the server.
"

However, when I reload the main page, the message I have sent is displayed OK.

No you are not the only one.
Exactly the same thing happens to me. Used to it now but find it a bit unnerving when you think you might have lost everything you typed in.
Thought it was something to do with me but obviously not.
