    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.barrettscampaign.org.uk/forum//member_profile.asp?PF=129">jcombs99</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> Read this please.<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 17 May 2012 at 1:39pm<br /><br />Dints<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;It's very important to get the Bp down to normal levels for the fundo opt .Check it 3 or 4x a day ,mine is double digtals WHEN I'm in shape which isn't now(trip)...<br />Every joint in my body is messed up so is my buddies with 7 back jobs .What I did is buy a home bike from ASDA for $300 ..I started a 3(1 min trips a day )then went to 3(5min which is one mile)IF painfull slow down but don't QUIT .You have at LEAST 18 weeks and I'm sure longer if I know NHS .All my tests were high because I started EATTING after they found HGD . But in 4 months I lost 39lbs and was in perfect health..REMEMBER you want to be at the correct weight you so you don't mess up the fundo or the HH by gaining ...<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Look around at the hospitals website only (www.clevelclinic.com)to plan your trip back .REMEMBER if your more carefull then the doctors like I do how can you go wrong !!!!!!!!!!!!<br />TAKE every single pain pill EVEN if you don't need them because you will heal faster .<br /><br />HGD JEFF  <img src="http://www.barrettscampaign.org.uk/forum//smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />  <img src="http://www.barrettscampaign.org.uk/forum//smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> <span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by jcombs99 - Yesterday at 1:40pm</span>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.barrettscampaign.org.uk/forum//member_profile.asp?PF=473">Dints</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> Read this please.<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 17 May 2012 at 11:31am<br /><br />Hiya Sandra, thanks for your reply.<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>I went to see the nurse yesturday who took my BP again and that came back as 128/92 so thats still abit high so i have to go back in 2 weeks time and have it taken again and a week later also. i phoned up the pre op clinic with the BP reading and they wanted to know if i could have my follow up BP's done sooner but to let them know when i have it taken again.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Diet ? ive been on a low fat diet for afew months now and im still loosing weight slowly but it gradually going down.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Salt ? i dont put salt on anything, never really have done, carnt remember the last time i had take out chippy, pizza or&nbsp;fastfood. until a couple of months ago it was chocolate chip cookies, crisps and chocolate bars that were my real downfall and now ive cut them out completely as they made me ill but i really liked them. abit like you and the cigs i didnt want to give them up but i had too so i did.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Drinking ? ive stopped drinking completely now till ater ive had the op ive chose not to drink even though i love afew cans now and again. if i dont have the op for 3 maybe 4 months then so be it, ive stopped drinking for longer than that in the past so im sure i can do it again.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Exercise ? thats abit of a hard one for me as i have serious back problems so carnt walk very far as it is, i do do stretching exercisis every morning and night to try to keep the limited mobility i have now. if i didnt carry on with them my back would only get worse, even though at times i think it couldnt possible get worse.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>I hope im as pleased with my fundo just as much as chris is with his.</DIV><DIV>I&nbsp; will keep posting upto and after ive had the op to let people whats going on.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>ATB Damian216 x&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</DIV>]]>

I don't know about you but my BP rises when I am in a situation where I get tense and nervous - which can occur in a clinic situation.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.bpassoc.org.uk/BloodPressureandyou/Thebasics/Bloodpressurechart" target="_blank">This chart </a>shows what range your blood pressure should be in ideally.<br /><br />Hope it helps.<br /><br />Chris]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.barrettscampaign.org.uk/forum//member_profile.asp?PF=473">Dints</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> Read this please.<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 14 May 2012 at 5:19pm<br /><br />Hiya people, ive just got back from the hospital and my surgeon has said he will perform a fundo on me within 18 weeks.<DIV>However !&nbsp;after he told me that i was sent to pre&nbsp;op assement and had that&nbsp; there and then, blood tests, weight, (14.2) MRSA swabs, etc etc </DIV><DIV>When it came to my blood pressure the findings were 144/95 and after a while sat down it came back as 132/97.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>The nurse who took the blood pressure said tha was very high and i need to go to my GP to have it taken again and ive got to phone the pre op clinic up with the results and let them know what my blood pressure is when i have it taken then. </DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>He told me to have it done within a week.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Im no doctor and know very little about blood pressure, does anyone else on here know if that is going to put my operation on hold ?</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Chris rob or jjcombs seem to know alot so i would welcome there insight on the situation.&nbsp; any helpfull reply would be welcome.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Thanks, Damian216. x</DIV>]]>
