The Annual Jacqueline du Pré Charity Concert

Wigmore Hall, London

This annual concert is held as a memorial to the famous cellist, Jacqueline du Pré to raise money for musical and medical charities and help promote the careers of talented young musicians. They have been held every year since 1996.

In 2011, Barrett’s Oesophagus Campaign has been invited to be the beneficiary of this concert, which will feature the young, talented cellist Gemma Rosefield.

Gemma won the prestigious Pierre Fournier award at Wigmore Hall in 2007. She made her concert debut aged 16, when she won first prize in the European Music for Youth Competition in Oslo.

She completed her studies with Ralph Kirshbaum at the Royal Northern College of Music, where she was awarded the coveted Gold Medal.
